Psychology
Associate in Science (A.S.)
Psychology is the study of human experience and behavior to understand why we do the things that we do. Discover exciting new insight into people (and yourself!) as you prepare to transfer into a four-year program.
Career Outlook: Psychology and Social Services
Many industries require professionals who are educated in psychology and can understand or guide human behavior. The demand for psychological services is on the rise in mental health centers, substance abuse treatment clinics, schools, hospitals, and other professional settings. Work in a satisfying field where you can help others cope with social challenges and support their mental health.
A.S. Degree Overview
In this program, you'll receive a well-rounded education that combines psychology classes with courses in math, science, and writing. You will study human behavior and the mind, examining how people's thoughts, emotions, and behaviors impact social interaction.
"I knew that I wanted to go into psychology because I loved school counseling. I love being that bridge to help students explore who they are and go on to the next chapter of their lives . . . I can't stress enough that having small classes really helps the professors become more involved in your life and success as a student. It just made the learning more personable."

Club members discuss childhood trauma and its outcomes, explore issues of diversity and equity, and complete self-awareness exercises to identify personal strengths.
The club also plans community service projects — such as clothing drives — and campus events, including a walking meditation on Laker Day. All FLCC students are welcome to join regardless of their degree program.
