Abby Zanowick. Science Teacher, Canandaigua School District.

"I have been bringing my 9th grade Living Environment students to Muller Field Station for close to 10 years. This field trip is one of my favorite annual activities. The students are always impressed by what types of animals can be found around the corner from their homes — such as bears, bobcats, beavers, and coyotes! Many 9th graders have never even been in a boat before, so they love the channel paddle. Getting a chance to canoe in a wetland is such an amazing experience. They discover the importance of the wetlands while learning that teamwork is necessary to steer a canoe."
