How to Apply for Aid

A five step guide to apply for financial aid.

Applying for aid can seem like a challenge, so we have identified the steps to make the process easier. As an applicant, it is important to submit appropriate application materials and documentation.

The FAFSA has undergone several enhancements to improve user experience and accuracy. We acknowledge that some families have expressed concerns about delays in FAFSA processing. The Department of Education has communicated that many of the known issues have been resolved and most students have successfully submitted the FAFSA online.

Below are a few of the pertinent resolved issues.

  • Applicants are now able to submit corrections to their 2024-2025 FAFSA if necessary.
  • A parent with no SSN is now able to access the student’s 2024-25 FAFSA form after being invited.

Although we are encouraged by the progress which has been made, our timeline for offering aid is still delayed.

We anticipate processing financial aid offers by late May. Please rest assured that the financial aid office is making every effort to package aid for next year as soon as possible.

Keep Moving Forward: Complete Your FAFSA

We encourage all FLCC incoming and returning students to finish their FAFSA as soon as possible.

Upon submitting your FAFSA, you will receive an email confirmation from Federal Student Aid. This does not mean FLCC has received your data yet. We will reach out to you directly once we have it.

Your patience and understanding during this period are invaluable. We are grateful for your cooperation and are committed to providing regular updates as we navigate through these challenges together.

Don't let the FAFSA delays deter you from pursuing your college experience and securing the funds you deserve.

Step 1: Create Your FSA User ID

  • Request a FSA User ID for yourself and all contributors (spouse, parent, step-parent, etc.)
