Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Certificate Program Overview

Learn how to provide essential care to patients under the supervision of an RN. Prepare for the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) licensure exam. Study anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and more in our Sands Family Center for Allied Health nursing facilities.

Clinical Experience and Practicums

Gain confidence in performing crucial tasks such as monitoring vital signs, administering medication, and reporting medical data. Our hands-on clinical experiences and practicums enhance your understanding and expertise in nursing.

As a student in our LPN certificate program, you'll visit long-term care facilities, regional hospitals, and community clinics. For the capstone course, you'll work independently with a registered nurse at a healthcare facility that aligns with your professional career goals.

LPN Admissions Requirements

All candidates must submit the following:

FLCC admissions application
Official transcripts from high school or equivalency diploma
Official transcripts from all colleges attended

Minimum Requirements for Applicants:

NYSED approved high school diploma or equivalency (GED, TASC, Homeschool, etc.)
Cumulative GPA of 80 for high school (or equivalent score for GED, TASC, Homeschool) or 2.5 for college (min 12 credit hours)
Must have completed algebra, chemistry, and biology (80 or better in high school, C- or better in college). Coursework from both high school and college can be used to meet this standard.

Admission are based on the academic qualifications of the student and space availability. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the LPN program.
